JILL M. METZ: Our firm handles primarily five areas of law. We do proactive work, adoption estate planning, probate work and then we do litigation work, which is the corrective work at the end in terms of all the family law litigation. Always with an overview, or an overlay on top of for the lesbian and gay community because we primarily represent lesbian and gay individuals and couples.

When I started my practice over 30 years ago, I focused on a community and I wanted to be, as a small town lawyer for that community, I wanted to be not only the person who has a focus in the area that they may have come to me for the first time, but also the resource that they could back to when other things happen in their lives.

Our firm is on the cutting edge of lesbian and gay rights. We have experience in the courts, in working with changing the laws and with a broad range of legal issues that affect the lesbian and gay community.
