Suzette M. Pierson Esq.
Suzette M. Pierson was awarded her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in 2006. Ms. Pierson practiced family law prior to joining Jill M. Metz & Associates in December of 2010. While in law school, Ms. Pierson was the recipient of a Law Merit Scholarship and a CALI Award for her criminal defense clinical work on behalf of the Center for Justice in Capital Cases. Additionally, Ms. Pierson participated in the Schiller, DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center, worked as a research assistant to Professor Thomas Mitchell investigating real estate law and rural land occupancy, and clerked for both the Legal Aid Bureau and the Center for Disability and Elder Law in Chicago. During her tenure at the public interest agencies, she worked on cases involving marital dissolution, domestic abuse, child custody and visitation, probate law, elder law, disabilities concerns, and landlord-tenant issues. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Pierson received an M.A. from the University of Chicago, where she conducted research in primate biomechanics in biological anthropology, and managed an independent bookstore in Chicago.
